Staffing

Your child’s success is linked with the success of his/her staff. We place the utmost importance on who joins the Spectrum and Beyond family. Not only do we train on policies and procedures at staff’s New Hire, we ensure our philosophy resonates throughout training. Then we can pair our staff with your child.

Our focus is on pairing the most appropriate staff with your child. This is a collaborative process.  Once a staff has been found for your child, they will meet with the family first.  We respect the fact you are the expert on your child, and your input on how well a person will fit into your child’s life is important.  By the staff meeting the family first, it allows the family this opportunity for involvement in who works with their child.

Once a staff is chosen, intense individual training occurs.  The staff will shadow someone who is familiar working with your child.  They will learn how to best interact and communicate with your child, as well as learn his/her reinforcers, possible triggers, and toleration for demands.  Staff will also be trained on the customized Treatment Plan, and how to collect data. Our goal is to set both the child and the staff up for success.

Staff will be supervised with on-site visits, and review of their daily data collection.  Their supervisor will have constant communication with staff and family to assess progress, areas of concern, and to provide ongoing training to the staff.  Team meetings are a wonderful opportunity for the team to collaborate on the child’s goals and interventions during non-working hours, especially when there is more than one staff working with your child.

Sometimes there is already a person in a child's life who is primed for this position.  If you feel you know of such a person whom you would like to possibly work with your child, please feel free to download our application to give to that person.  Filling out the employee application does not guarantee employment, however if the person has successfully completed the hiring process, he/she will be strongly considered for your child.  Your recommendation of potential staff is held in high respect.  We appreciate any referrals!
